Results

Fifty bipolar I and II patients were randomized to adjunct pramipexole 1.5 mg. or placebo to assess effect on cognition. Although it was initially hoped to use only euthymic patients, that did not prove to be feasible. 45 patients completed the study and among them the pramipexole had no significant effect on cognitive measures. However a post-hoc analysis of the 34 euthymic patients showed a significant improvement in processing speek and working memory.
