The Maryland Brain Collection

The Maryland Brain Collection (MBC), located at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center (Department of Psychiatry, University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, USA), is dedicated to promoting research with brain tissue obtained post-mortem from individuals with schizophrenia and control tissue from individuals free of brain disease.

The goal of the MBC is to provide high-quality tissue and clinical information for hypothesis-driven research.  The MBC is not funded as a Brain Bank and is supported exclusively through collaborative research.  A processing fee (USD 250 per sample) covers expenses associated with diagnosis, tissue acquisition, storage, dissection, and administrative costs.
