Outcome Measurements

Thirty four patients received levetiracetam as open,adjunctive treatment for clinically significant symptoms of mania, depression or rapid cycling. Five of 16 patients with initial depressive symptoms the IDS-C scale criterion for remission. Seven of 16 patients with manic symptoms met the criterion for manic response and remission but 4 showed intervening periods of exacerbation of mood symptoms.
