Results

In an open label study of sevoflurane burst suppression therapy (BST) in 40 patients with treatment-resistant depression 78% experienced at least a 50% reduction in HAM-D scores. BST was generally well tolerated. To follow-up this result, a larger, controlled comparison to bifrontal ECT has been funded by SMRI and is in progress.
