Results

This was a study of 28 patients with BP depression, randomized to memantine, max 20 mg/d for 8 wks, or placebo as an adjunct to lamotrigine. The memantine was superior to placebo in decreasing the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (p=0.05), but the effect was maximum at 3 to 4 weeks and not sustained.
