Results

This study compared psychoeducation alone against psychoeducation plus motivational interviewing to ascertain whether motivational interviewing was useful in increasing treatment adherence. Fifty subjects were enrolled, 8 excluded because of substance abuse, 38 completed the baseline assessments, and only 19 completed the 6-month follow-up. There were no differences between the groups in treatment adherence.
