Results
Eighty-two (82) patients with schizophrenia were randomized to D-serine (30 mg/kg) + computerized cognitive retraining (CRT); D-serine + placebo; CRT + placebo; or placebo + placebo. Sixty-four (64) completed the 12-week trial, and 46 completed the 6-month follow-up. Both D-serine and CRT produced minor benefits on vigilance and sustained attention, but the effects were neither robust nor sustained.
