Results
64 patients with bipolar depression were randomized to levothyroxine 300 mcg/day or placebo as adjunctive treatment to mood stabilizers for 6 weeks. Both groups showed improvement of depression on HAMD, greater in the levothyroxine group but not significant (p = 0.466).
